Position Title: My First School Preschool Teacher (hiring for 3’s & 4’s class, 2’s class, and substitutes)

Hours Required (School Year): August 27 - May 20 – 15-32 hours per week
2’s class teacher hours Tuesday & Thursday 8:30am-12:30pm
3’s & 4’s teacher hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-12:30pm
Pay Range: $11-$13 per hour
Job Description:
Classroom Preparation
· Prepare lesson plans, materials and, classrooms for daily activities, including clear objectives for all lesson & projects using MFS curriculum. Must be turned into the Assistant Director by M/T of each week.
· Provide parents with ample communication via week in review (to be sent home TH/F of each week) and monthly newsletters/calendars (to be sent home at the beginning of each month).
· Exhibit a positive and caring attitude towards all children in the classroom.
· Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
· Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order. Administer discipline consistently when behavior/rules are not being followed.
· Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health, to provide regular progress reports.
· Consistently teach Bible stories. The weekly bible story should be read every day.
· Seasonally change hallway bulletin board (at least every other month) coat hook name tags, and in classroom sign in tags.
· Send home snack request forms when needed but not to exceed 5 times during a school year.
· Organize and label materials and display students' work in a manner appropriate for their ages and perceptual skills.
· Provide and maintain a neat organized classroom. Take responsibility for upkeep of all education equipment and materials.
· Clean and sanitize all toys and surfaces according to ODJFS rules.
· Obtain & maintain all state-required training, including CPR, child abuse, first aid, and communicable disease modules.
General requirements
· Maintain prompt hours. Must notify Director in the event of an illness and find a substitute.
· Attend & participate in staff meetings.
· Attend extracurricular events.
· Work with other staff members in a cooperative manner.
· Refrain from gossip and negative talk about students/families and staff members.
· Obtain & maintain all state-required training, including CPR, child abuse, first aid, and communicable disease modules.
· Attend in-service trainings (6 hours yearly) via online classes or workshops.
· Keep the classroom environment clean/sanitized and free of all potential hazards
· Read through all state required documents (Ohio Revised Code 5101:2-12 & 5104) and keep all environments free from noncompliance.
Experience Requirements
• High School Degree
• A minimum of one year experience in a child care center or 2 years in weekly children’s ministry highly preferred
• Ability to meet state required regulations as outlined in Ohio Revised Code 5101:2-12-25
