Welcome to Cornerstone Church of Aurora’s 3 Circles Evangelism Training! Through this venue, you have an opportunity to participate in this training on your own time, on your own schedule.

There are six session below, complete with six videos. You can download the trainee guide here.

We additionally have copies of the corresponding book “Turning Everyday Conversations into Gospel Conversations,” as well as copies of the "simplified “3 Circles: Life Conversation Guide.” Both are available on-site.

SESSION 1

Before you watch Lesson 1, please know a few items:

1) The key to this training will be getting in your repetitions or “reps.” If you merely watch the video and fill in the blanks, you won’t be trained to do anything! Be sure to do the class training reps and the personal training reps!

2) The app for your phone/device is NOT called “3 Circles” rather it is called “Life on Mission.”

3) The fill in the blanks are:

  • We want every RESIDENT of your community to have REPEATED opportunities to hear and RESPOND to the Gospel.

  • We have to get serious about reaching people WHO ARE FAR FROM GOD.

  • We have to get serious about PRAYER and the POWER of the Holy Spirit.

  • We have to get serious about having more GOSPEL CONVERSATIONS.

  • We’re going to train you to use the 3 circles to turn EVERYDAY conversations into GOSPEL conversations.

  • We’re going to train you and help you get REPS (repetitions).

SESSION 2

Before you watch Session 2:

1) Spend time in focused prayer, praying specifically for 1-4 people who do not know God. Specifically pray that God would reach those who are the furthest from him in your life.

2) Be prepared after the video to complete the “Class Training Reps,” the “Write Your Gospel Presentation,” and the “Personal Training Reps” sections in the Trainee Guide.

3) Here are the fill in the blanks for the video:

  • We’re going to focus on training you to share the WHOLE gospel.

  • The word “gospel” literally means GOOD NEWS.

  • TGI – because everyday we have opportunities to TRANSITION to the GOSPEL and INVITE people to repent and believer in Jesus.

  • Repent means to CHANGE or change direction.

  • Believe means to TRUST or put our FAITH in the person and work of JESUS.

  • Gospel is simply: Jesus DIED for our sins, he was BURIED, and God RAISED him from the dead

  • 3 circles cheat: Draw a DOWN arrow, a CROSS, and an UP arrow in your gospel circle.

  • We will PRACTICE telling the gospel over and over again so that we can tell it ACCURATELY and EFFECTIVELY

SESSION 3

Before you watch Session 3:

1) Spend time in focused prayer, praying specifically for 1-4 people who do not know God, as you did in session 2.

2) Be prepared after the video to complete the “Identify Gospel Hurdles,” the “Class Training Reps,” and the “Personal Training Reps” sections in the Trainee Guide.

3) Here are the fill in the blanks for the video:

  • The 3 Circles works best when someone shares a PROBLEM, ISSUE, or CONCERN.

  • We live in a BROKEN world.

  • BROKENESS gives us OPPORTUNITIES to turn everyday conversations into gospel conversations.

  • “Reconciliation” means to take things that have been BROKEN apart and put them back TOGETHER.

  • God has FIXED us to be FIXERS.

  • We need a PLAN to transition the conversation.

  • We ask PERSMISSION to share something that has helped us.

  • We practice in IDEAL situations so we can be successful in REAL WORLD situations.

SESSION 4

Before you watch Session 4:

1) Read the “Focused Prayer” section on p. 21, and pray that God would give you an opportunity and the boldness to invite some specific people to repent and believe in Jesus.

2) Be prepared after the video to complete the “Class Training Reps” and the “Personal Training Reps” sections in the Trainee Guide (on pages 24-25). If you have any stories of celebration to share (p. 24), please reach out to Pastor Drew.

3) The fill in the blanks for the video (on pp. 22-23) are:

  • We practice TGI—because every day we look for opportunities to TRANSITION the conversation to the GOSPEL and INVITE people to repent and believe in Jesus.

  • We are God’s MESSENGERS.

  • We don’t just want to give the INFORMATION; we always want to give the INVITATION.

  • Let the gospel be the FILTER.

  • Two-step invitation:

    • First, we invite the person to IDENTIFY his or her current location in the 3 Circles diagram.

    • “Is there anything that would keep you from repenting and believing the gospel right now?”

  • We want to HELP people invite Jesus to SAVE them from their sins.

SESSION 5

Before you watch Session 5:

1) Read the “Focused Prayer” section on p. 27, and pray specifically for unbelievers in your life by name.

2) Be prepared after the video to complete the “Class Training Reps” and the “Personal Training Reps” sections in the Trainee Guide (on pages 29-32). If you have any stories of celebration to share (p. 31), please reach out to Pastor Drew

3) The fill in the blanks for the video (on pp. 27-29) are:

  • TGI—because every day we look for opportunities to TRANSITION the conversation to the GOSPEL, and give an INVITE people to repent and believe in Jesus.

  • RESPONSES to the gospel are as OLD as the gospel itself.

1) “Some mocked.” This is the RED light response.

  • The goal of our reaction to a red light response is to be GRACIOUS so FUTURE gospel conversations are possible.

2) “But others said, ‘We will hear you again about this.’” This is our YELLOW light response.

  • The goal of our reaction to a yellow light is to EXTEND the CONVERSATION.

3). “Some men joined him and believed.” This is our GREEN light response.

  • New believer: Lead the person in a theologically accurate salvation prayer.

  • Already a believer: TRAIN them, just like we have been training you.

  • The goal of our reaction to a green light is to help the people take their NEXT STEP: discipleship, Bible study, baptism and connection with a church family.

  • The 3 Circles are easily reproduced.

  • We can be PREPARED for every type of gospel response.

SESSION 6

Before you watch Session 6:

1) Read the “Focused Prayer” section on p. 33, and set a reminder at 10:02 each day to pray for others who do not know Jesus.

2) Be prepared after the video to complete the “Class Training Reps” and the “Personal Training Reps” sections in the Trainee Guide (on pages 36-37). If you have any stories of celebration to share (p. 36), please reach out to Pastor Drew.

3) The fill in the blanks for the video (on pp. 34-36) are:

  • We want to immediately TRAIN and DISCIPLE new believers.

  • We train them by:

    • Reviewing 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17–21 with them.

    • Having them practice GOSPEL CONVERSATIONS USING THE 3 CIRCLES with us.

    • Challenging them to IMMEDIATELY share the 3 Circles with at least one other person in the next 24 HOURS and report back via phone call or text.

  • We disciple new believers to obey Jesus’ commands to get BAPTIZED and GATHER regularly with other believers.

  • Remember: We are God’s PLAN for RECONCILING the world to Himself.

  • Let’s choose to:

    • Keep PRAYING for those we know who are far from God.

    • Pray at 10:02 every day because Jesus said, “Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Luke 10:2).

    • Keep THINKING TGI—transition, gospel, and invitation.

    • Keep getting your REPS.

    • Keep seizing opportunities to turn EVERYDAY conversations into GOSPEL conversations.
