Our Ministries for Children
Knowing that children often struggle to stay engaged in worship services programmed beyond their level, Cornerstone offers a time on Sunday's where children can learn more about God. Following a time of singing & prayer on Sunday, children are dismissed to King's Kidz. All children ages 3 through 3rd grade are invited to this time as they will learn about God's word. The children will learn about God's character, discuss how to live as his child, learn how to build a godly character, strive to understand the church, and learn about telling others about Jesus.
King's Kidz consists of two groups where children engage in a Bible lesson and an activity time, and are challenged to respond to the Bible lesson in a hands-on manner. Our younger kidz group are three years old - Kindergarten, and our older kidz from 1st - 3rd grade.
We hope that your children will join us on Sundays at 10:30am, as they learn about the great God who loves them so dearly!
Nursery - We are also excited to be able to offer a modern, safe, fun, and engaging place for your youngest children - from birth to 2 years old - in our church's nursery. Our nursery is available every Sunday (with the exception of some holidays) during Worship at 10:30am. If you or your young one is not comfortable with a church nursery, Cornerstone is also pleased to offer a special cry room in our Worship & Activity Center where you can both see and hear what is happening in the worship service.
My First School Preschool
My First School (MFS) Preschool is a very important ministry undertaking at Cornerstone Church of Aurora, which is aimed to provide an excellent-quality preschool to our community at an affordable price. For more information, you can visit My First School's Webpage, e-mail us (firstname.lastname@example.org), or call 330-562-8070 to schedule a complementary, risk-free tour.
Our "Club 408" is a group designed to continue our children's education from King's Kidz through their middle-school years. As it is named, our Club 408 spans 4th - 8th grades. Club 408 meets every Sunday evening at 6:30 where we talk about the Bible and how it applies to our lives wherever we are. Club 408 is currently going through a study titled “Choices.”
Club 408 also has quarterly events where we get together not only for fun, but for a chance to serve as well. This year we will be watching a Christian concert, having a swim/bonfire evening, attending an Akron Rubber Ducks game, and having our annual Operation Christmas Child Lock-In.
If you have any questions about Club 408 or would like to start joining us, either for our study or an event, please contact Pastor Matthew Russell at (330)562-8233.
Our Youth Group is our final ministry for our kids. This group spans 8th - 12th grade and, like Club 408, has quarterly events. We meet each Sunday at 9:00am for a Life Group Bible study as well. Currently, we are viewing and discussing a video series, “The Truth Project.”
We look forward to events such as bowling, an Indians game, a bonfire, and a pizza party over Christmas Break.
If you have any questions about our Youth Group or would like to start joining us, either for our study on Sunday mornings or an event, please contact Pastor Matthew Russell at (330)562-8233.
Our Upward Leagues offer an extended, multi-month opportunity for character-building, player development, and the formation of deep relationships between teammates and coaches. Players will develop a love for basketball and a healthy competitive spirit and discover skills necessary to succeed. The game format and rules are designed to teach the game at an age specific level that grows with each young athlete.
If you have any questions, please e-mail us at email@example.com or call 330-562-8233.
