Announcing Cornerstone Church of Aurora

PRESS RELEASE - April 1, 2017

The First Baptist Church of Aurora at 79 E. Mennonite Rd. is excited to announce its new name: Cornerstone Church of Aurora.  This new name focuses on Jesus, the Cornerstone of the Christian faith.  Cornerstone’s main aim is to promote strong families by providing sound Biblical teaching and ministries for the entire family.

One of Cornerstone’s primary family ministries is My First School, a weekday Preschool for children ages 2-5.  More than 120 children receive quality instruction preparing them for elementary school in a Christ-centered environment, which includes a brand new indoor playground structure in the church’s Family Center. Cornerstone further partners with Faith Baptist Church in Streetsboro to host Upward Sports events for kids 4 years thru 6th grade. Recreation leagues in basketball and flag football provide children with fun, structured sports activities in a wholesome, family atmosphere.

Cornerstone’s family focus has led to the recent hiring of Family Pastor Matthew Russell to lead the church’s efforts to strengthen families. The church has also recently remodeled its interior space to create, The Cornerstone Café, a gathering place for families to connect with other families, while enjoying free refreshments and gourmet coffee on Sunday mornings before the worship service.  Lead Pastor Drew Carroll said, “We’re excited about the new vision and outreach that Cornerstone is taking, as we strengthen our commitment to help families build their lives upon Christ the Cornerstone.”

If you’re looking for a family-friendly, Christ-centered place to worship and make new friends, Cornerstone Church of Aurora invites you to join them this Sunday at 10:30AM (nursery and junior church provided).  For information, call the church at (330) 562-8233 or visit our website at cornerstoneaurora.com.
